November Tree Care
When planting new trees: Excessive mulch atop roots encourages upward root
growth. We don't want that! Mulch only the outer edge of the tree well.
This will encourage lateral root growth and reduce stem girdling.
Bare root trees have a much better chance in acclimation and establishment
than container trees. If you can get them bare root from your nurseryman,
do so.
